The story behind Betayastro
Founded in Edmonton in 2018 by two stylists who were tired of watching clients leave happy but not seen.
Betayastro opened on Jasper Ave in 2018 with a deliberately small team and a straightforward premise: styling works better when the stylist knows who they're styling. The two founders had spent years in larger salons where client files were nominal, consultation time was counted in minutes, and the pressure to turn over chairs was constant. They wanted to build something different — a space where a colourist might spend twenty minutes at a consultation table with a new client before the appointment even starts. That's not inefficiency. That's the work. In six years, Betayastro has completed over 4,500 client appointments across hair, colour, skincare, and nails. The team has stayed deliberately small — seven practitioners at present — so that continuity is real rather than a marketing promise. Your regular stylist knows your file, your colour history, and what didn't work last time. When we say “personal stylist,” we mean someone who is personally responsible for your results over time.
What we do and what we don't promise

Betayastro is a full-service beauty salon — hair cutting and styling, colour work including correction, skincare facials, and nail services. We serve adults of all ages, hair types, and skin tones, and we're equipped for everything from a first haircut consultation for a teenager to a full colour-transformation appointment for someone returning to their natural base after years of chemical processing. What we don't do: we don't offer spray tanning, lash extensions, or waxing services — not because they don't matter, but because we want every service we offer to be something we do exceptionally well. We also won't promise specific colour results without a consultation and strand test first. Colour outcomes depend on your hair's history, porosity, and current health — variables we can only assess in person. What we can promise is that we'll be honest with you about what's achievable, and that we'll work methodically to get you there. Edmonton has no shortage of salons. We're confident Betayastro is the right fit for clients who care about craft and consistency.
I came in expecting a standard colour appointment and left feeling like I'd worked with an actual specialist rather than whoever happened to be free.
